The techniques used for the Volatility strategy are similar to those used for the Technical Core. It is a price based, trend following system. But instead of being based on the S&P 500, it is based on the Volatility Index, which makes its performance unique. It also tends to be the fastest moving of the strategies, which is why it is only given a small allocation.
